« Angelica Archangelica or Garden Angelica(Angelica archangelica). Main activities: antispasmodic, carminative, antidyspeptic, tonic, antibacterial.
Therapeutic use: dysmenorrhea; psychosomatic disorders, lack of appetite, dyspepsia.
In dysmenorrhea, gastralgia (ache localised in the stomach or abdominal region) and persistent pain in the stomach, intestine, biliary tract, etc.; nervous insomnia; every time the nervous factor appears to be reason of a functional disorder.
Antioxidant…, it protects the liver from oxidative stress. Avoid its use during prolonged exposure to sunlight (photo-toxicity). This activity, however, can be exploited in the treatment of vitiligo and psoriasis.
It has proven anticonvulsant, muscle relaxant, sedative … and coronary dilator activities. Antibacterial and antifungal, in particular against Candida albicans…»[1].

Stimulant, digestive tonic (it aids digestion), aperitif, antispasmodic, carminative; bechic; sudorific; emmenagogue, diuretic, expectorant, prevents contagious diseases; can be used as an antidote for Belladonna, Hemlock, Colchicum poisoning.
Indication: general fatigue, anaemia, digestive atony of weak individuals, heartburn, bloating, stomach and bowel cramps, spasmodic vomiting, stomach swelling, enteritis; tuberculosis, chronic bronchitis, nervous asthma; liver failure, nervous headaches; dizziness, syncopes; impotence; menstrual cycle disorders (light menstrual blood flow, pain), leucorrhoea; chlorosis, rickets, scurvy.
