«Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis). INTERNAL USE. Properties: general stimulant (like mint, lemon balm, sage, thyme) and cardiotonic, adrenal-cortical stimulant; hypertensive; stomachic, pulmonary and bechic antiseptic, antidiarrhoeal and antineuralgic, antigout; cholagogue and choleretic, emmenagogue; cephalic, diuretic and sudorific. Indications:  asthaenia (general weakness), physical and mental overwork (memory deficiency), hypotension, chlorosis, adenitis, lymphatism; asthma, chronic bronchitis, whooping cough, flu, intestinal infections, colitis, diarrhoea, flatulence; liver pathology, cholecystitis, jaundice due to hepatitis or occlusion, cirrhosis, gallstones; hypercholesterolemia, atonic dyspepsia (difficult digestion), gastric pain; rheumatism, gout, dysmenorrhoea (painful menstruation) and leucorrhea; migraine, diseases of the nervous system: hysteria, epilepsy, consequences of paralysis, limb weakness, nervous heart disorders, dizziness, syncopes….
Essential oil: 3 to 4 drops, 3 to 4 times a day, on a sugar cube [honey or hot milk or directly on the affected part: put a few drops and gently massage to favour its absorption].
«EXTERNAL USE: Properties: wound and burn healing, , resolving, parasiticide.
Indications: sores, sunburn, rheumatism, musclepain, white discharges, pediculosis, scabies, general fatigue, child weakness, weakness of sight (baths).
Rubbing with an alcoholic solution or in vegetable oil at 5% [or pure] against rheumatism and muscle pain » [1].  

«Rosemary essential oil has both a spasmolytic and an expectorant effect, whether used internally or externally by means of fumigations.
It is also indicated in bronchopulmonary diseases, in sinusitis and otitis (in this case, it facilitates evacuation of pathological secretions), as a circulatory and muscular tonic.
It may also have a brain tonic action (stimulation of brain function)…. The odour of this oil can decrease pain without exerting a direct analgesic effect. The olfactory properties of the essential oil of rosemary can produce objective effects on cognitive performance and subjective effects on mood as well as improve memory performance » [2].
